According to the inventory of 1763, the belltower of the Intercession monastery was stone, with eight bells and a german clock.

In 1799 it was rebuilt in a three-tiered tower of 15 yards high in German style. The ancient bells were cast by artisan Slizov. You can see it from the following captions: «April 12, 1747 this bell was cast for the Intercession monastery, which is near the poor house, by the efforts of hieromonk Sila; contributor Danila Yakovlev and other religious donators, its weight is 66 poods. Cast by Konstantin Michailovich Slizov»

In 1926 the Belltower was exploded. On May 2, 1999, his Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and all Russia consecrated the Foundation stone of the new bell tower on the place of the destroyed Church. Twelve bells were cast at the famous Tutaevsky bell factory of Nikolay Shuvalov, which kept a 300-hundred years’ tradition of casting bells. These bells are characterized by strength, melodiousness and extraordinary power of sound.

On October 4, 2002, his Holiness Patriarch Alexy II of Moscow and all Russia consecrated the bell tower and its bells.
